Before you drive in Paris

  • The Greater Paris low-emission zone requires a Crit'Air sticker on the windscreen. France's Constitutional Council kept the zones in force on 21 May 2026, and Greater Paris has said it will not issue fines before the end of 2026.
  • TBD: cars based in Paris carry a Crit'Air sticker
  • The Boulevard Périphérique has been limited to 50 km/h since October 2024; most Paris streets are 30 km/h zones.
  • French autoroutes are largely tolled, with card payment at the barriers.
